Biography of Professor Juan G. Alvarez:

Professor Juan G. Alvarez has a Doctorate in Medicine and Surgery, a Doctorate in Reproductive Biology and a Doctorate in Physical-Chemistry. He has been Professor of Obstetrics and Gynecology and Reproductive Biology at Harvard Medical School since 1992. During almost three decades he developed his scientific career in prestigious academic institutions such as the University of Pennsylvania and Harvard Medical School. He was Director of Research of the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology and Co-Director of the Women´s Health Research Institute at Beth Israel Hospital in Boston, where he carried out basic and clinical research in the field of infertility. Proof of that are his more than 200 peer-reviewed articles published in the most prestigious scientific journals. Dr. Alvarez is ad hoc reviewer of more than 15 scientific journals that include the top journals in human reproduction. In addition, he is the inventor of FertilMARQ™, the first and only home test available for male infertility approved by the Food and Drug Administration (FDA).
Dr. Alvarez is currently Scientific asesor of Instituto Marques and also Director of Centro ANDROGEN. He combines his clinical responsibilities with teaching and applied research in infertility. For this purpose, he collaborates with prestigious institutions such as Yale University, South Dakota University, Harvard Medical School, the Center for Advanced Reproductive Services of Connecticut, Queen´s University in Belfast, Université Blaise Pascal in France and the Consejo Superior de Investigaciones Científicas, the top research institution in Spain.
